This morning I made my first recipe that included discard from my sourdough starter “Breadric”.
Basically a cup of the starter combined with two eggs, milk, a bit of salt and some melted butter.
I served them with icing sugar, a dollop of creme fresh and a raspberry sauce which was basically just mashed frozen raspberries which I then heated in the microwave. We also had some leftover maple syrup from pancake day to drizzle on them!
They were very nice – you could taste the sourdough in the form of a bit of a tang on the back of your tongue! They reminded me of the pancakes I had in Amsterdam a few years ago and I now can’t wait to try making a savoury version of them!
